you have to make sure you buy the high quality marine speakers that are waterproof.   Meaning you have to buy speakers that are made to withstand getting wet and not rotting.  Speakers are made with a speaker coil (magnetic)  and a speaker cone.  Typical household speakers have speaker cones made of a special paper that can weaken and break apart if exposed to moisture.  But marine speakers that are waterproof are resistant against the outdoor elements and can last in severe conditions.
